Ryan | 2016 Pickerington Ohio Senior | Arena District & Short North

Meet Ryan, a 2016 Pickerington Central Senior. We spent the day in and around the Arena District & Short North for Ryan’s senior session. Ryan is one of those quirky kids (& I love quirky kids!!) that has so many ideas bubbling out of his mind, that he just shares them with you.  He’s one of those really great kids that you just know you’re going to end up reading about in some top 100 best inventions or  founding CEO’s, and you’ll say to yourself ‘hey I remember that kid! He did great for himself!’.  We had some laughs along the way with his session. I kept reminding him to roll his shoulders to help him loosen up, I even threatened I’d find some funky station on Pandora to make him dance — This kid definitely doesn’t need music! He started shimmy/shaking right there! All in all, I think that day, was a good day 🙂

JoeJoe | 2016 Pickerington Ohio Senior | Downtown Pickerington

We had JoeJoe’s session on a cold Sunday afternoon in downtown Pickerington. JoJo is going to be a graduate of Pickerington Central High, with plans of attending The Ohio State University to study in the medical field. He’s a wrestler for the Tigers & has taken up weight lifting for body building recently.  I have to say it was a complete pleasure to hang out with JoJo for the afternoon, he was super laid back and relaxed, even when friends of his passed us by on the street. We talked about the recent homecoming dance, and the corny themes that never seem to change no matter when you attend high school.

Erika | 2016 Pickerington Ohio Senior | Arena District & Short North

Meet Erika, a 2016 Senior from Pickerington. We hung out in the Arena District & Short North for her portrait session.  The day was overcast, but that didn’t put a damper on our spirits! As you can tell Erika is an avid Bluejackets fan, plus we chatted about her idea of starting her own cosmetology business. Half way through her session her bestie, Mikayla, joined us. I’d like to hope that between Mikayla cracking her up and the vibrant downtown that Erika’s session was a success.

Mikayal & Alli | Mini Fair Sessions | Pataskala Street Fair

I finally got to have a photo shoot at a local fair 🙂 It.Was.A.Blast! The colors, the lights….the food (which once we wrapped we all devored in). Mikayla brought her friend Alli & we hit the Pataskala Street Fair. It was a bit of a homecoming for myself, seeing a town I went to high school in. The fair has definitely grown. And I’m “fairly” certain (see what I did there LOL!) the girls had a blast. Too bad most of summer is over & town fairs/festivals are at a wrap. But this is one session I’d love to repeat next year!

Mikayla | 2016 Pickerington Ohio Senior | Downtown Arena District

What can I say about working with Mikayla, she’s always so cute! Don’t let her fool ya when she says she’s just so awkward 😉 I’m pretty positive that by her third shoot with me, she’s got this down pat! After a pretty detailed discussion of how to plan her session, and many pins  to Pinterest later, we hit the downtown shining! The plan was to hit up the Arena District explore a bit, check out the nooks and crannies in & around the Spaghetti Warehouse & then off to the Short North. That was the plan. However, when opportunity rolls past you, literally, you seize the moment. A wonderful couple were cruising downtown on a Saturday night in their vintage, refurbished 1955 Lincoln. And it seems as if Mikayla planned for it perfectly, since she was rocking her dark skinny jeans, leather jacket & red pumps that matched the car completely. After a few shots with the Lincoln in the background, I asked the couple if we could borrow the car. With a solid ‘Absolutely!’, we rounded our night in front of the Columbus downtown skyline enjoying the kismet that occurred for her senior portrait session.

Mikayla is a going to be a 2016 graduate from Pickerington Central.

Sam & Mikayla | Wreck the Dress – Pickerington Ohio Photographer

A few months back, I read an article about a bride who was jilted at the alter & instead of feeling sad for herself, she celebrated. She celebrated her friends & family, and most of all herself. If you read this article, you know what happened next. She, along with her bridesmaids & her parents held a photo shoot — in their formal wear — and trashed it. Not just trash, but WRECKED. Everyone’s heard of “Trash the Dress” or “Wreck the Dress” & most of the times its for brides in their wedding dresses. So I thought, why should it be just for brides?? Here is the first group of brave creative, fun, silly — AWESOME!! girls who took part in the first ever Dashtwo Studios Wreck the dress.  They donned their former homecoming dresses & I think its safe to say they completely enjoyed themselves. I’m pretty sure Mikayla even found it relaxing laying in the creek. 🙂 There are still available sessions in July if you are interested in having your very own Wreck the Dress, the sign up is here:

Abbi | 2015 Pickerington Ohio Senior | Downtown Pickerington & Three Creeks Park

Abbi, who has graduated from Pickerington central, got to hang out with me not once but twice! Actually she’s hung out with me on several occasions with her bestie Erika during all of her photo shoots as well. We braved some nippy temps during her first session,  as we hob-nobbed around downtown Pickerington for a quick shoot. Then her second, we ventured out to an refurbished log cabin & Three Creeks park.

Memorial Day weekend is one across the country with cookouts, family, fun and celebrating summer, along with remembering the sacrifices made by our military men & women.  I was able to spend a few hours with the Mill-Riley family. I finally get to post Nicole’s session on the blog, yeaaaa!! Nicole had two sessions. We got to hob-nob around Granville for a bit in the fall & then Dawes for the spring. It was a fabulous time during both sessions. I got to meet her awesome Mom, cute little nephew & her Dad joined us for her session at Dawes. We talked about her admission to Kent State & how active she has been in competitive cheerleading & her softball season.  Nicole’s has a smart head on her shoulders, I really can’t wait to see her working with children taking care of them!
